Kidney Early Evaluation Program Screening
for Chronic Kidney Disease conducted by the National Kidney Foundation

Free screening for chronic kidney disease. Sponsored by Rice Memorial Hospital and made possible through the financial support of Rice Health Foundation.

Medical professionals will be on hand to administer screening tests, review results and answer questions. Please call the National Kidney Foundation office at 800.596.7943 to pre-register.

Who should attend a kidney screening? You should attend if you are 18 years or older and have one or more of the following:

  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure, or are taking medication to control high blood pressure
  • A parent or sibling with diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease

What will you have to do?

  • You will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire
  • Your blood pressure, height and weight will be measured
  • You will be asked to give a blood and urine sample
  • A doctor will review your results with you at the end of the screening

Camp GK Bear
Presented by The Grief Center and Rice Hospice

A day of support and education for children, Grades K-6 who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Camp GK Bear is free of charge, however, children are asked to bring a bag lunch with them. The camp is staffed by professionals and trained Hospice volunteers.
